Global Mission

Here at Hope, we believe that God’s plans are for the whole world. This is why we love to support individuals, families and organisations who have been called by God to serve him in the UK and abroad.

Graham and Debbie Frith
El Alfarero Project, Bolivia

Graham and Debbie Frith have been in Bolivia since 1995. They are the passionate about working with University students and leaders to help them understand their true identity and answer the question “Who is God”?

They oversee the two ministries that they founded called El Alfarero in the cities of Sucre and Santa Cruz which support university students through a cafe, free counselling, a library and training (see www.alfarero.org). They also lead the Alfarero International office which runs a Masters Programme, has a consulting company, an editorial office and is soon to open a Mission Training School for Latins who are called into overseas mission.

Paul and Janey Hames
CMJ, The UK and Israel

Paul and Janey Hames are passionate about sharing the Jewish Messiah with Jewish people. Serving with Churchs Ministry Among Jewish People since 2000, they spent five years living and working in Jerusalems old city among the Jewish and Arab community, seeing many come to faith in Jesus. Now based in Leicester they head up CMJ UKs travelling Bible Comes To Life Exhibition which began in 1891 attracting thousands of visitors from schools and members of the public. It continues to be an effective evangelistic tool that demonstrates the Hebrew roots and culture of the Christian faith. Paul and Janey also regularly lead mission trips and educational tours to Israel.

Maggie Gill
St Stephen’s Society, Hong Kong

St.Stephen`s Society is based in Hong Kong, and has grown out of Jackie Pullinger`s  work there with drug addicts, Triad gangsters and prostitutes.

The work has expanded to a number of places in Asia, including India, China, Philippines and Vietnam, and though it may look a little different in each country, the goals are always about helping the poor, the oppressed, and the most broken members of society.  In one place it may involve taking in addicts or trafficked girls; in another it may be about caring for broken teenagers. It will always of course be about seeing people become whole through discovering the good news of God`s love in Jesus.

Maggie Gill is still involved in travelling to mentor teams for SSS, and there can be opportunities for teams or individuals from Hope to serve short term, particularly in Hong Kong.

She works for UCCF (Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship) – a charity that encourages, supports and equips student leaders in Christian Unions at their local universities. Their aim is to give every student in the UK the opportunity to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus Christ. She loves seeing and hearing about people from all sorts of backgrounds be introduced to Jesus and have their lives changed as a result!
